Greetings from the Shire of Thorngill.  We are a local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international educational organization dedicated to researching and re-creating pre-17th century European history.  This site is here to help keep our populace updated on our activities and to help newcomers, whether new to the Society or to our area, find out how to find us or get involved.

Our “Shire” is located in south-central Alabama and covers Montgomery, Elmore, Autauga, and Chilton counties.  The Society in whole is made up of nineteen Kingdoms worldwide, which are broken down further into Baronies, Shires, Cantons, and Colleges.  We are a part of the Kingdom of Meridies, which takes in most of the Southeastern United States.

We ask you to look through our site, learn about us and the events we host annually, July Feast and Knight’s Gambit.  Newcomers will want to visit our “Life in the Shire” page, full of info for those who want to know more about the Society in general, and Thorngill in particular. They can also visit the Society Newcomers Facebook page or Kingdom of Meridies newcomers web page

Whatever your reason for visiting, we welcome you!
