Come join the Shire of Thorngill for a day event of Fighting, Food, and Fun! We will have the famous Weighted Team List and a Fundraiser Tourney. This year we are also proud to present the Second Annual MADCAPS (Meridian Archery Day Challenge and Prize Shoot).   There will be classes. (Want to teach? Let us know.)  Feast is sure to please.

Come spend the day or the weekend. Site opens 5 pm Friday (May 31) and closes Sunday (June 2) at 11:00 am.

 Feast Menu

Gruen FeldtSalat (Green Field Salad)   - mixed greens with pomegranate seeds and pomegranate vinaigrette dressing.

Assorted breads, fresh fruits, butters.

German Course

Gút Lembratten (Good Roast Beef) Beef roast in Agraz (blend of grape juice, apple juice, and apple cider vinegar)  with onions, garlic, ginger, cloves, thyme, and bay leaves.

Brat Ruben Fried Root Vegetables (carrots, parsnips, turnips, braised in olive oil and topped with brown sugar)

Harte Eyer (seasoned boiled eggs)   - boiled eggs sprinkled with balsamic vinegar, parsley, and salt.

Spaetzl (Flat noodle/German dumpling).I

French Course

Coq au Vin (Chicken thighs, carrots, and leaks/sweet onions cooked in red wine w/mushrooms)

Flat beans in Savory cheese (Italian green beans in a cheese sauce)

Almond rice

Fried apples (apples, nutmeg, brown sugar, butter) 

Scots Course

Pork and apple pie (pork roast with apples, leeks, and sweet onions, cooked in apple juice/cider with spices) 

Braised greens (cabbage, spinach, turnip greens)

Honey-ginger carrots.

Mulled Pears (pears in red wine with cloves)

Directions: Take your best route to I-65 north of Montgomery. Take exit 179 (US-82/Millbrook/Prattville) and head west on Cobbs Ford Road to second traffic light. Turn left onto US-82. Travel approximately 5 miles and turn right onto Selma Hwy/Hwy 14. The church building will be immediately on your left next to a Family Dollar store.
